Darlana serves as the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Advisor and direct manager of the billing and coding department at MH Geriatrics Management. She is responsible for making sure coding and billing are done with accuracy and efficiency. As the Advisor of CDI, her role also includes working with the physicians and staff to assure the highest standards of documentation are achieved. Prior to joining MH Geriatrics Management, Darlana was the Administrator of Wellness Family Practice for 18 years. This role included managing all aspects of the practice’s MRA, Hedis and Clinical documentation as well as the accuracy of billing and coding. She also served as a trauma nurse at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach for five years. Darlana completed her Associate’s Degree in Nursing at Daytona State College and received her Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) and Certified Document Expert (CDE) certifications from the American Academy of Professional Coders.
